The problems with guns on campus

 

Gun control is a very popular topic, especially when it relates to college campuses. As of 2012, guns were allowed on 200 public campuses in six states. Many students feel unsafe when firearms are allowed on campus since the students don’t know who does and doesn't have a gun, and who knows how to properly use one. A recent study showed that around 4% of students had a working fire are with them on campus. This isn’t safe.

 

 

Guns are used in about 9% of violent crimes, and between 2002 and 2013, 57 people were killed on campus by a gun. While this isn’t a huge number, it is still far too many than it should be. And all of those deaths could have possibly been prevented if firearms weren’t allowed on campus.
